GO Public Schools Fresno is a branch of GO Public Schools, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit statewide organization that supports local coalitions of parents, educators, and community allies to advocate for quality education for all students in their communities. GO Fresno is one among three sites of GO Public Schools. The other sites are located in Oakland and West Contra Costa. GO Fresno works to organize, align, and develop leaders to influence local education policy and practice in the best interest of our students.
GO Public Schools provides GO Fresno with central supports like technology, database administration, finance, human resources, organizing models, and toolkits. Programming decisions and priorities are made at the local level, in partnership with our community.
We organize across the city of Fresno. We focus on working with and for historically underserved communities within our area, guided by the belief that every child in Fresno should receive a quality education.
Our three main priorities are to develop the Choosing Our Future 2.0 Report to carefully examine what progress has and has not been made in the Fresno school system since the original report was released in 2005; establish a family leaders fellowship that will engage families to advocate for policy recommendations in the education space; and launch a school board watch program that will preview and explain school board meeting agendas. Guided by our Leadership Council, we will work to identify, prioritize, and influence the highest leverage changes to Fresno education policies, practices, structures, and culture.
