We believe that families are uniquely positioned to advocate for the best interests of our students. Wee support inspiring and passionate parent/guardian leaders like you to organize family demand for quality schools. We also work with you to develop your understanding of effective schools and offer valuable information to help you support your child’s education.

Family Leaders Program
The Family Leaders Program (FLP) is a 10-week parent advocacy and leadership development program designed to build advocacy skills among Fresno parents and family members to then create system changes in order to improve student outcomes in Fresno Unified. Over 100 Family Leaders have graduated from this program since it was launched in 2017.

Family Leaders Action Group
After graduating several groups of parents through the Family Leaders Program, we found that many of the alumni wanted to continue to work, togather toward improving student outcomes in Fresno. So the Family Leaders Action Group (FLAG) was formed! These committed family leaders meet 1-2 times a month to plan, organize, and strategize and also learn together about the issues facing Fresno’s schools. Stay tuned for more information about the work of FLAG as the school year progresses!
