The Fresno Kids First Data Talk brought the community together to explore how data reveals the challenges students face and the steps needed to drive meaningful change. Rooted in GO Public Schools’ commitment to equity and transparency, the event encouraged participants to reflect on key performance indicators and their connections to real-life experiences.
Attendees were invited to engage with the data—recognizing familiar patterns, uncovering surprising insights, and identifying areas where action is urgently needed. Conversations emphasized the need for systemic reforms to support underserved students to ensure every student has what they need to succeed.
One key topic was A-G eligibility, a critical measure of college readiness. While 86.1% of Fresno students graduate in four years, only 46% complete the A-G courses required for UC/CSU admission. These rates vary dramatically by school, ranging from 20.6% to 100%, highlighting the need for equitable resources and opportunities to prepare all students for higher education and future success.
