I GO because I believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities. GO Public Schools provides families with a wide range of resources designed to help them navigate the education system and advocate for their children’s success. Hearing families struggles motivates me to continue this important work and help support our underserved families. One of my favorite ways to support our families is preparing parents for their parent-teacher conferences with our GO Family-Led Conference Planning Form so they feel confident and informed when discussing their child’s progress.
Empower families to have an active role in guiding their students’ educational journey brings so much joy. Seeing the faces of families light up when hearing how their new found knowledge has supported their engagement during the last weeks of our Family Leadership Program is always worth the time and dedication to our mission. We teach families how to be active advocates – supporting their knowledge in organizing community action, ensuring families have the tools to mobilize around the issues that matter most to them. To be part of a movement that not only advocates for change, but also provides the practical tools and supports families need to lead that empower them to make the change themselves. That’s why I GO!
