Parents, if you are feeling overwhelmed by the special education process, the waiting lists, and troubles getting services for your child, don’t miss out on our upcoming “A Parent’s Guide to Special Education!” The guide will be released next week, and we will be hosting a webinar on October 16 to have a deep dive into the contents of the guide.
Fresno’s inaugural “A Parent’s Guide to Special Education” will be a family resource about how the special education system works. The guide will include sections on the IEP process, 504 plans, disability categories, and transition planning. It also will have practical tools to help parents become better advocates for their children. Family need for clearer guidance and support is high in Fresno and we hope this guide helps to arm families with the information they need to advocate for their children, ensuring that children with disabilities receive the support and services they deserve.
