As summer draws to a close, the cherished moments and joyful memories under the summer sun will stay with us as we gear up for a new school year. I’m excited to re-engage with our families, educators, and partners, backed by a team ready to make this year impactful. We’ve spent the past weeks strategizing and planning for the 2024-2025 school year, and we’re committed to creating opportunities for celebration, collaboration, and meaningful community engagement.
Each day, whether in one-on-one meetings with parents and partners, during our family-focused programs, or while sharing data with stakeholders, we move closer to our mission: to amplify the voices of families and their champions – educators, school leaders, community members, and officials – to advocate for the equitable public education of underserved students in California communities. Together, we hold systems and leaders accountable for the outcomes they create for students.

And don’t miss out on our upcoming Family Leaders Program, running from September 16th to October 21st. This virtual program is a fantastic opportunity to gain the knowledge and tools to influence educational systems and policies effectively. Last year, our graduates used their skills to advocate for Cal Grant Reform to Central Valley legislative leaders. Sessions are online every Monday evening from 5 to 7PM, making it convenient to participate from home. We look forward to empowering more families to step into leadership roles within schools, districts, and the broader community.
