The data shows that while student achievement increased from fall to winter, the number of students on grade level in math and reading is still below their English speaking peers.
Contributing factors include low levels of reclassification throughout the pandemic which has contributed to lower levels of participation in early post secondary opportunities (such as AP and dual enrollment) combined with a lack of parent engagement.
The information in this report offers data driven recommendations for the districts and schools as they continue to care for the specific needs of one of Fresno’s largest student groups to help them succeed in a 21st century economy.
