We believe the leadership, knowledge, and strength of our communities are the most powerful values in paving the way towards positive change. This is why we are so thrilled to announce the start of our second Family Leadership Fellowship class for spring 2018. We have a diverse group of parents joining us from various schools across Fresno Unified, and we are excited that they are ready to become leaders in this movement.
Fellows represent a diverse mix of Fresno’s many races, ethnicities, languages, school neighborhoods, etc. These parents have stepped up to the plate to be creative leaders and committed to further equipping themselves to be educational advocates for not just their own students, but all kids in Fresno Unified. They are most driven to learn about bold new ways to help transform the public education system in our great city, so every young person receives nothing but the best opportunities to succeed in school and life.
The 10-week fellowship course modules will dive deeper into understanding current Fresno Unified data, learning about factory model schools vs new school models, understanding power, developing organizing skills, practicing public speaking, and more. We look forward to the journey ahead as we walk alongside these families as they work to change the odds for all of our students.
