Tips for Joining GO at the May 23rd FUSD Board Meeting

Thanks for committing to join us at the Fresno Unified Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 5:00pm. The meeting will start at 5:30pm and be held at the FUSD Education Center at 2309 Tulare Street, Fresno, CA 93721.
Please read through these tips to make sure that you and the rest of the GO Fresno network have the greatest possible impact:

ARRIVE EARLY

If you want to make sure you have a seat, be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early. GO team members will be there beginning at 5:00pm. The board meeting room is small, seating is very limited, and often the beginning of the meetings are the most crowded as that is when the Board recognizes school site staff, students, parents, and other community members. According to the May 23rd Meeting Agenda, the Choosing Our Future resolution is scheduled to be presented and discussed towards the beginning of the meeting.

PARK AT THE N STREET PARKING PAVILION

Free parking is available after 5:00pm at the N Street parking pavilion located on the southeast corner of Tulare & N Streets, the entrance is on N street. Let them know you are there for the Fresno Unified School Board meeting. After parking, you will need to cross Tulare Street to arrive at the FUSD Education Center. Also, the City of Fresno will not enforce the street meters in this area after 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

HEAD UPSTAIRS

The School Board meeting is held at the FUSD Education Center, 2309 Tulare Street (corner of M and Tulare Streets). The board meeting room is on the second floor, near the elevator. Use the entrance at the corner of M and Tulare.

BE PREPARED TO WAIT

Sometimes the Board meeting begins late and agenda items are discussed for longer than expected. It is difficult to guess exactly what time the Choosing Our Future discussion will begin and how long it might go, so you will want to be prepared to stay through 8:00pm.
